Mr. Anthony, a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Business Hall of Fame, began his profession as a teacher in rural Newfoundland and put serious emphasis on the worth of education. The scholarship award is intended to assist a worthy, high-school graduate attend Memorial University of Newfoundland who would without the scholarship find it hard due to financial considerations.
