The university’s history may be traced back to Victoria College, which was founded in 1903 as the province of British Columbia’s first post-secondary school. In 1963, it was re-established as a university.
The university’s 403-acre campus is located 7 kilometers north of downtown Victoria. The Jeanne S. The Sisters of St. Ann donated the six-hectare Queenswood property, which was converted into a national laboratory.
The University of Victoria, on the other hand, is home to Canada’s first and only ancient law degree program, as well as dedicated ancient and environmental law research facilities.
