Eligibility for Kent-Wates PhD Scholarship at University of Kent

To be qualified for the Kent-Wates PhD Scholarship award in Suicide Prevention;

Successful applicants will possess exceptional research prospect and will have gotten a First or 2:1 Undergraduate degree program, together with a Master’s with Distinction (or hoping to) in public health, social policy or organisation studies (present Master candidates can tender a partial transcript).

Candidates should possess a minimum aggregate score of 7.0 on an IELTS test.
This condition is waived, if a candidate is a national of a majority English-speaking nation or has finished a qualification equal to the UK Bachelor’s degree program in a majority English-speaking nation.

Successful applications will satisfy all of the qualifications conditions (degree programs and IELTS score). However, candidates falling short of these conditions but with an excellent research proposal and references may be given consideration.
